Many females, especially school-going girls, and young women, experience pain before &/or during periods (menstruation) which is known as Dysmenorrhoea. Although some pain during menstruation is normal but excessive pain is not. The pain may be crampy, sharp, or aching which may come and go. It is usually felt in the lower abdomen but may radiate to the lower back and thighs. Some women may even experience nausea, loose stools, headache, dizziness, and pain.

At times, the pain makes it difficult to perform normal household, job, or school-related activities for a few days every month.
